Management Accounting - Qualified Accountant

What you will be doing

Due to continued expansion, we are currently accepting applications for a qualified accountant role within our management accounting team. DM’s management accounting team provides a range of management accounting services for SPVs, exploration PLCs, management companies, ICAVs, aircraft leasing entities, and other financial services entities primarily based in the UK, Europe and the United States. 

The key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of the books of account and trial balance for all client entities. 
  • Working with various accounting packages as per client needs including: Xero, Sage, Relate and Oracle.
  • Preparation and review of monthly and quarterly management accounts for clients. 
  • Preparation of annual financial statements and liaising with auditors and clients. 
  • Preparation/review of bank payments for clients.
  • Preparation/review of excel schedules for loan/interest calculations and other supporting calculations. 
  • Preparation of VAT returns and co-ordination of payroll internally with the payroll team at DM. 
  • Co-ordination with the tax team to ensure all tax requirements are met and any tax queries are dealt with. 
  • Co-ordination with the company secretarial department to ensure all relevant filings are completed. 
  • Attendance at board meetings where relevant for presentation of management accounts and/or financial statements. 
  • Constant liaison with the client and/or directors. 
  • Audit liaison and dealing with audit queries where applicable. 
  • Assisting DM senior managers, directors and partners on ad hoc accounting issues. 
  • Coaching junior members of the team including interns and trainees and reviewing their work accordingly. 
  • Due to the firm’s global client base and international offices located globally, opportunities for international travel/placement are often available. 

What will you need

  • A relevant accounting qualification, i.e. ACA, ACCA. 
  • A relevant third level degree (Accountancy related a bonus) with 2.1 Honours (preferred). 
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and FRS 102 accounting principles. 
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines/compliance requirements in a fast-paced environment. 
  • High level of self-motivation to perform work related tasks and to take ownership of own professional development. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A relevant accounting experience within the financial services industry can be an advantage but not essential. 
  • Ability to take ownership of own professional development.
  • Legal entitlement to live and work in Ireland.
